Within the Agency, issues are divided into four different  pillars :   Production and Productivity  which includes Inputs and Crop Protection, Livestock, Research and Extension, Mechanization and Rural Finance;  Environmentally Sustainable and Inclusive Agricultural Growth including Sustainable Irrigation  and  Watershed Management, Sustainable Land Management, Gender and Nutrition, Climate Change  Adaptation and Mitigation, Targeted Livelihood Support, Biodiversity  and  (temporarily)  Planning and MLE;  Agribusiness  and  Markets  including Market Services, Commercial and Contract Farming, Domestic & Export Market Development,  and  Cooperatives;  and  Enhanced Implementation Capacity  which includes ICT for Agricultural Services, Private Sector in Agriculture, and Organizational and Human Resource Capacity . POSITION SUMMARY: The role of the IT support Officer is to assist customers who are experiencing any procedural or operating difficulty with the use of IT applications, products or services. Complex and/or high priority problems are elevated to specialized support groups for resolution when needed, but the IT support officer is responsible to ensure that an effective solution is provided to the user. In this role, the candidate will provide maintenance of the computer desktop environment by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, installing hardware and software solutions, and supporting the internal IT Helpdesk. S/he will be responsible for administration and internal support of the Agency’s PCs, Laptops, printers, servers, and related equipment. Tasks include end user support, license tracking and performing, PC maintenance, upgrades and configurations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions Provide helpdesk support and resolve problems to the end user’s satisfaction Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT helpdesk Monitor Service Desk for tickets assigned to the queue and process first-in first-out based on priority Modify configurations, utilities, software default settings, etc. for the local workstation Utilize and maintain the helpdesk tracking software Document internal procedures Assist with onboarding of new staffs Ensure each workstation has a computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, Docking station, LCD display, hard drive, and any additional specialized equipment Install, test and configure new workstations, peripheral equipment and software Maintain inventory of all equipment, software and software licenses Report issues to the Service Desk for escalation Manage PC/ Laptop, tablet, Smart phone setup and deployment for new employees using standard hardware, images and software Manage Printers, scanners, digital senders, UPS, Assign users and computers to proper groups in Active Directory Perform timely workstation hardware and software upgrades as required Provide accurate information on IT products or services Record events and problems and their resolution in logs Pass on any feedback or suggestions by customers to the appropriate internal team There is often pressure to work as fast as possible to deal with problems and achieve immediate results in all situations, either to ensure the minimum loss of working hours or customer-contact time, or to enable members of staff to use their computer again. Due to the nature of the work, you may be expected to work shifts, weekends or be on call and it may be necessary to work extra hours to finish a job.   Job Requirements Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering or related field. At least 2 years of relevant experience as a help desk technician/officer or other customer support role Training / certification in industry standard products preferably from Microsoft or Cisco is preferred Strong computer literacy skills with an emphasis on software, hardware, networking, application knowledge, installations and use. POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Manager will create and lead a Project Management Center of Excellence (CoE) within the ATA and the Ethiopian agricultural sector to catalyze successful execution of the projects in the Agricultural Transformation Agenda. The CoE will support Project Leaders and their teams and build their execution capacity to ensure that the Agricultural Transformation Agenda projects are delivered on time, on budget and with the targeted results. This execution capacity has been identified as a major bottleneck to the transformation of Ethiopia’s agriculture sector, and the person in this role will be on the front lines of creating national change affecting millions of smallholder farmers. This position will report directly to the Director of the Program & Project Management (PPM) team. In addition the CoE, the PPM team is tasked with running a national-level PMO to coordinate actions of the ATA and many national, regional and local partners to execute new Priority Initiatives over the next few years, including eliminating wheat imports and increasing food security through dramatically increasing maize production. As part of the Strategic Services department, the Senior Manager will work closely with the Performance Management (planning, reporting & evaluation) and Analytics teams and the Delivery Unit at the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Resources. The position will be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The terms of employment for this position may be done and governed by World Food Programme (WFP) and managed in accordance with the internal framework of the WFP, which provides employment contracting and related services to the ATA. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: • Develop strategy for the CoE's engagement with ATA projects and partners • Lead design of best practice project management processes, tools and training for the entire project lifecycle • Hire, manage and develop CoE team members. • Identify and prioritize specific projects and activities that require enhanced project management support. • Train the CoE team to support ATA teams and partners from project launch through execution and troubleshooting to documentation and handover or transition • Ensures clear communication and coordination of activities between the CoE, other Strategic Services teams, ATA project teams and ATA partners • Design and manage productivity or work planning software as needed for successful project management • Support the Director of the Program & Project Management team with tools, processes and training to ensure optimal performance of the national PMO for Priority Initiatives • Regularly survey ATA and partner project teams for feedback on improvements to project management tools, training and support • Link projects with common activities and bring learnings from one project to another in consultation with the Senior Management Team. • Provide portfolio management insights to the Senior Management Team – look across projects to identify common trends, areas for collaboration with partners, potential bottlenecks, risks, and opportunities for refocus or expansion. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Master’s degree in business, economics, engineering or other relevant field preferred, Bachelor’s required.
