Job Description

Job Duties

Coordination of activities carried out by the Social and economic empowerment Department including staff assignment;

Development of project proposals, annual plans and reports with regard to the department for administration, government and funders (in Amharic and English)

Development of monitoring & evaluation instruments for the activities of the department; and evaluation of program activities on a regular base;

Assessment of clients at their residence for enrollment into the program

Activities directly related to the clients:

  • Problem analysis related to health and psychosocial condition
  • Drafting of empowerment plan together with clients;
  • Individual, family and group counseling
  •  Pre & Post test counseling; Adherence counseling

Conducting awareness raising activities within the community

    • Organizing and conducting training on basic business skills, life skills, job readiness, home based care, etc.
    • Supervising staff including home and community caregivers;
    • Forming unions and credit associations and create linkage with microfinanceAssessing and identifying talents, interests, skills, experiences and capacity of clients with regard to employment possibilities and opportunities.

Job Requirement

Education/training

  • First degree in sociology or social work and health background from recognized college or university;
  • Training and certificate in HIV-counseling, VCT, Psychological support to PLHIV and Community conversation
  • Training and certificate in Basic business skill and entrepreneurship training

Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in related field

Technical and other skills

  • Strong counseling skills;
  • Strong communicating skills in addressing clients, stakeholders and colleagues;
  • Writing skills (in English and Amharic) for reporting and proposal writing;
  • Computer skills
  • Coordination skill
  • Organizational skills
