Job Description

Job Duties 

  • Provide technical assistance during annual woreda health performance assessments and woreda-based planning and budgeting.
  • Mentor woreda-level PFM staff in the Woreda Finance and Economic Development (WoFED) offices and Woreda Health Offices (WorHOs).
  • Mentor WorHO, WoFED and PHCU finance staff on PFM.
  • Provide technical assistance on the allocation and use of primary hospital and health center level retained revenue for priority services and commodities to improve the quality of health care, including allocation of essential commodities and supplies to satellite health posts.
  • Coordinate and provide PFM rollout and refresher training at woreda and PHCU levels.
  • Provide technical assitance and facilitate training to community-based health insurance (CBHI) scheme staff on CBHI Financial Administration and Management System (FAMS).

Job Requirement

  • Master’s degree in accounting, financial management or related field.
  • At least 8 years of relevant work experience in government public finance and planning.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team work, and ability to produce high quality work in a timely, cost effective manner.
  • Strong management and planning skills of project tasks and budgets.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimum direction and supervision.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills in English and Amharic.
  • Experience with USAID is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of an additional local language of the regiona for which you are applying is an advantage.

Location:  Based in SNNP (Arba Minch cluster office). Possible frequent field trips to project woredas.
