Job Description

  • Work closely with Factory General Manager, local management team and Hong Kong Head Office to set up and manage the finance and accounting function in Ethiopia so as to achieve the overall business targets
  • Plan and set up a full finance team with appropriate capabilities to support the factory operation when the Ethiopia plant is up and running
  • Oversee the functions of accounts payable, treasury and payment, taxation, company secretarial, legal support and contract execution
  • Perform accounting and book closing according to Ethiopia accounting standard
  • Prepare monthly management account according to group consolidation package
  • Maintain accurate inventory and costing ledger and schedule cycle count of inventory
  • Liaise with auditors, bankers, lawyers, professional and relevant authorities in Ethiopia
  • Establish/ improve the accounting controls and ensure their compliance on corporate rules and processes
  • Implement local finance and accounting procedures to ensure compliance with local government regulations
  • Keep and safeguard all contracts, leases, insurance policies, licenses, and all legal and financial documents
  • Facilitate the smooth running of the factory operation under the corporate framework
  • Ad hoc projects as assigned by the Head Office

 

Requirements

  • Degree holder in Finance, Accounting or other related disciplines Qualified member of Professional Accounting Body, ACCA/CA/CPA is a plus
  • Familiar with Ethiopia and International Accounting Standards
  • Minimum 5 years solid finance and accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing environment, experience in foreign owned company is a plus
  • Previous audit experience in international audit firm is definitely an advantage
  • Experience in handling company secretarial documents, business license, land certificate and relevant registration and filings
  • Well organized and strong planning and implementation of details
  • Sound knowledge in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, local accounting and customs software, experience in ERP system is a plus
  • Mature, ability to handle multi-tasks and identify priorities, able to work under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Fluency in English, knowledge in local language will be an added advantage
  • Willing to station in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia
