Our client that is engaged in the manufacturing industry is looking for a Human Resource and Administration Manager to join their team and accomplish all Human Resources and Administration activities to enable the company deliver on its policies, relevant Government laws and other programs whilst focusing on employees and their needs.
The Human Resources and Administration Manager oversees the department including employee recruitment/selection, discipline, grievances handling, counseling, staff remuneration, contract, training and development, succession planning, motivation, culture and development besides performance appraisals.
Your main responsibility is to work to accomplish all Human resources/ administration activities and services so as to enable the company deliver on its policies, relevant government laws and other programs whilst, “focusing on employees and their needs; striving towards development of an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, Continuous improvement, and high performance, some of the key aspects under the department include employee recruitment/selection, discipline, grievances handling, counseling, staff remuneration, contract, training and development, succession planning, motivation, culture and development besides performance appraisals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Managing and reporting HR issues on a regular/required basis within agreed formats and timescales.
Manage and develop direct reporting staff for the various sections under the department:- transport services, clinic services among others
Manage and control departmental expenditure within agreed budgets
Liaise with other departmental managers or supervisors so as to understand all necessary aspects and needs of HR development. To ensure they are fully informed of HR objectives, purposes and achievements.
Maintain awareness and knowledge of HR policy and provide suitable interpretation to managers, supervisors and staff within the organization
Reviewing human resource related contracts entered by the company to ensure legality and compliance with the law- in liaison with the company legal officer.
Make job evaluations and follow up salary, benefit, and promotion schemes as well as equal opportunity initiatives.
Develop and manage both internal and external training, employee orientation, and development programs.
Organizes regular and special meeting on scheduled basis or as required
Deals with relations between labor and management.
Understands and follows up implementation of collective agreement to help management comply.
Examines workers’ grievances and settles disagreements between labor and management.
Performs recruitment and staffing; finds applicants to fill job openings, arrange for interviews and where necessary test applicants.
Uses the knowledge of job evaluation to fit employees into their proper jobs.
Develop employee relations counseling programs for issues related to HIV aids. Employee skill strengthening of supervisory capability, or provide career counseling.
Communicates local government offices and community organizations for issues related to the company and reports developments or findings to the management.
Follows up and ensures employee safety, welfare and health.
Manages a team of administrative officers, training and developing them to enhance performance
Oversees daily support activities
Ensures completion of all administrative tasks
Performs other related duties as may be required
Requirements and skills
A masters and /or Degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
Experience of at least 8 years preferably in managerial positions in a busy manufacturing environment
Knowledge of Ethiopian Labor laws, legal codes, government regulations pertaining to labor and human resource management
Basic Computer skills
Excellent interpersonal relationship, skills
Ability to handle diverse challenges and cape with difficult working environment
A team player, keen on details and results oriented
Good communication and analytical skills
Experience effectively working with labor unions
Employees Development- provide and facilitate internal and external training and development programs: Improving skill levels of staff
Workers’ grievances- 100% clear up disagreements between labor and management.
Reliable transport services to employees with minimal complaints and good services at the staff canteen and employee clinic
Accurate employees records on all aspects including attendance and trainings
Employees Performance- evaluation to fit employees into their proper jobs.
Reducing employees turnover maximized through motivation
