St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College (SPHMMC) is a federal tertiary hospital and medical college, operating under the auspices of and in close cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Health and has as our vision to be a center of excellence in medical service and medical education in Ethiopia

In order to fulfill our vision SPHMMC has established the Office of International Communication and Partnerships (ICP) to assist in forming and maintaining thoughtful, beneficial partnerships with the most efficient use of resources. As we host a variety of specialists from around the worlds, we must accommodate their needs and facilitate the appropriate visas, permits, licenses and clearances necessary to allow them to function in their roles appropriately.

The ICP Office is looking for a qualified employee to assist in Processing paper work at various offices and government institutions to support our foreign guests and workers and to be an ongoing resource for them.

Supervisor/Manager: Assistant Director of ICP

Main Duties/Responsibilities
  • Main contact for outside or government offices such as the Ministry of immigration, Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH), Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (MOLSA), FMHACA, etc
  • Understand processes for obtaining visas, work and residence permits, airline tickets, customs clearances, medical licenses and any other processes necessary to host international employees and guests
  • Respond to ICP staff requests to transport paperwork or start processes at appropriate offices
  • Write letters or complete forms as needed for each process
  • Track each case to make sure requirements are met and the processes advance and are completed in a timely manner
  • Report to appropriate ICP staff on the ongoing status of each case
  • At times may interact directly with international employees or guests to answer questions about the various processes
  • Must be flexible and open to additional tasks as needed by guests or the ICP office
Skills & Experience
Education: B.A in Sociology, Social work, English or related subject
Skill:
  • Knowledge of government office procedures
  • Strong communication skills (via phone, email and in-person)
  • Patience and persistence in dealing with bureaucracy
  • Administrative writing skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to think proactively and prioritize work
  • Strong command of English and Amharic (both written and spoken)
  • Driver’s license and strong driving record
Experience:
  • Proven work experience working with government offices and procedures
  • International exposure preferable
