// The Sanitation Officer is responsible to provide ECHO/WASH and food security assistance to South Sudanese refugees in Jewi, Terkidi and Nguenyyiel refugee camps. The Officer will work with the prominent implementers to promote NCA in the humanitarian program. The position requires a highly motivated, energetic and keen person with strong personal integrity and commitment to serve the community in need. Evident exposure of INGOs in emergency setting is a plus. The person to be employed need to accept the Code of Conduct of ACT Alliance. Key Responsibilities: Supervise, coordinate and report the progress of the WASH activities in the camps to the WASH Manager. Manage, supervise and train the teams and casuals labour and refugees involved in the construction activities. Ensure technical quality of the design and construction of household and emergency latrines based on Sphere /UNHCR standard. Assist in mobilization of refugees to participate in the construction activities. Support in preparing and reviewing BOQs for WASH facility activities (UDDT latrines, shower facilities…etc). Follow up on daily basis construction activities at each site, review the performance of contractors/labour groups based on such site visits. Provide technical input in the general supervision, progress of construction activities and control of quality of materials and workmanship. Assist in assessment and training of local masons and carpenters Surveying, setting out and measurement of plot boundaries locating the position for Sanitation facilities. Produce weekly/daily progress report on the construction activities and update database on a weekly basis. Maintain labor records/time sheets and prepare payment sheet for all construction workers Cooperate with other program staff to ensure good integration with other program areas and of sanitation and hygiene promotion in water schemes. As delegated, coordinate with other organizations including through participation in relevant NGO and UN networks and forums. Represent NCA at coordination and camp meeting as required. Job Requirement B.Sc degree in Civil Engineering or Hydraulic Engineering or Construction Management Minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience in similar role and preferably in INGOs engaged in humanitarian and development activities.
