Awash Bank, Ethiopia’s pioneering private bank, was established on November 10, 1994 after the downfall of the socialist regime. The Bank was established by 486 founding shareholders with a paid-up capital of Birr 24.2 million and started banking operations on Feb. 13, 1995.

Since embarking operation, the Bank has registered remarkable growth. Notwithstanding global and domestic challenges, Awash Bank has exhibited a superior operational and financial performances among private banks operating in Ethiopia. Awash Bank Job Vacancy Announcement:

Position 1: Administrative Assistant I

Qualification & Experience: BA Degree in Administrative Services Management plus a minimum of one (1) year of experience in secretarial service.

Position 2: Office Machine Technician

Qualification & Experience: Diploma in Electronics or related fields plus a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in handling office machines.

The job holder maintains all types of Bank’s office equipment and is involved in testing, configuration and integration of new office equipment prior to introduction into the operation environment.

Position 3: Senior – Administrative Assistant

Qualification & Experience:BA in Administrative Services Management and Technology System or related field plus a minimum Seven (7) years of relevant experience in construction industry.

Position 4: Senior Geo -Technical Engineer

Qualification & Experience: BSc Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field plus a minimum of (8) years’ relevant experience preferably in high-rise buildings and complex construction projects.

Master’s degree is an added advantage.Professional Engineer related certificate (added advantage).

The job holder is responsible for geotechnical investigation planning, site investigation and data collection, and foundation design and engineering, in the Bank. He/she also perform geotechnical risk assessment; and collaborate and communicate geotechnical issues proactively, ensuring that the project remains on track.

Position 5: Senior – Project Management Officer

Qualification & Experience: BA/BSc in Business, Economics, Construction Technology & Management and Civil Engineering or related field plus minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in project management preferably in construction and development projects.

  • MSc in Project Management and/with Construction engineering and geotechnical investigation related certificate (added advantage).

The job holder is responsible for supporting all activities related to land acquisition and preparation, coordinating feasibility studies, documenting client requirements, providing support for geotechnical investigations, assisting during design phases, managing risks, and ensuring quality assurance for the construction of the Awash Bank HQ.

Position 6: Senior – Business Intelligence and Analytics Officer

Qualification & Experience: BA Degree in Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Business Management or related fields plus a minimum of six (6) years’ experience in research, business intelligence and related areas.

The jobholder is responsible for supporting business intelligence and data analytics activities in the Bank. He/she identifies and pursues strategic opportunities to enable the bank grow profitably, continuously meet or exceed customer expectations and stay ahead of competitors and potential disruptors.

Position 7: Principal – Tax Officer

Qualification & Experience: BA Degree in Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Banking & Finance and Economics plus a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience

The job holder is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely collection, reconciliation, and payment of all applicable taxes to the respective tax Office. S/he maintains up-to-date knowledge of tax laws, and ensures their proper application across all branches and business units, facilitates tax audits conducted by federal and regional tax authorities; prepares and provides all required documentation and responses during tax audits to ensure the bank’s position is well-represented. S/he develops and implements tax risk management strategies to safeguard the bank’s financial health.

Position 8: Branch Manager – Class IV Branch

Qualification & Experience: BA Degree in Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Banking & Finance and Economics plus a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant banking experience of which (3) years in a supervisory position.

The job holder is responsible to plan, organize, lead, and control the banking activities of a branch office. S/he ensures that operating procedures, rules, regulations and code of practices of the bank are adhered to by subordinates. The jobholder leads the branch sales and customer service initiatives and guides branch operational excellence. S/he prepares and submits annual budget, operational plan and activity and progress reports.

Position 9: Manager – Business Intelligence & Analysis Division

Qualification & Experience: BA Degree in Accounting & Finance, Economics, Management, Business Administration, Management Information System (Business Information System) or related plus a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in the banking sector of which three (3) years in a supervisory role in research, business intelligence and data analytics.

The jobholder is responsible for leading business intelligence and data analytics activities in the Bank. He/she identifies and pursues strategic opportunities to enable the Bank to grow profitably, continuously meet or exceed customer expectations and stay ahead of competitors and potential disruptors.
