Job Description:
Major Responsibility
- Cooperate baseline, engaged in comprehensives Gender conflict analysis and other assessments
- Closely work with other officers/specialists and respective area government sector offices so that gender issues are effectively addressed with all types of interventions
- Undertake the preparation of detailed annual activity vs finance, purchase and other required plan and follow up its implementation
- Serve as gender focal person of the project delivery towards quality annual plan, implementation & reporting in the target districts and Serve as the main contact point for the partnership communications
- Carry out gender training based on project logic model for staff and stakeholders relating to participating in community dialogues and issues that need their involvements.

Identify/stretched/establish women centered CBOs, FBOs and the like towards empowering.
- Ensure Women participations in community dialogues and leverage their contributions for the nonviolence approaches
- Ensuring that women benefit from inclusive and gender transformative market opportunities
- Ensure targeting is aligned with the project,
- Review and validate gender related targets and indicators of the project and consult with the peace building project
- Undertake execution of project DIP with women centered, Conduct regular field visits to ensure all concerned are familiar with gender approaches to be used in day to day programming Implement project planned activities in line with the agreed work plans and budgets; successfully delivers against timeframes, milestones,
- Regularly monitor, review and evaluate the implementation of project, take appropriate and timely action and extract lessons learned closely working with MAEL (where available).
- Ensure that learnings are applied in the DIP revision Contribute to the documentation of good practice and learning. Ensure that at all time the project target identifications and selections in line with the planned log frame milestones are made Facilitate documentation of best practices and success stories on the roles of women in peace building and community dialogues
- Conduct regular support and monitoring visits to intervention regions to ensure the progress of gender-based activity implementation on a good track and develop mechanisms to monitor and evaluate the impact of womenβs in peace building and conflict resolutions in different structures
- Provide technical support including capacity building trainings trauma, on women in peace building GBV prevention andresponse for the community and other partners and key government stake holders and ensure timely submission of project reports as WV and Donor requirements. and conduct timely documentation of project progress through case studies, stories, photos, videos
- Establish effective working relationships with the government counterparts, implementing partners, private and public sectors, consultants, and other development organizations and target populations in the program operation. And Work with the implementation partners to identify and address potential capacity building and/or support needs. Participate at Zonal and Woreda Level monthly GESI, CP and GBV cluster meeting as required Prepare quality and timely regular reports and submit the same to concerned GO & HO
Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification
- BA in Sociology, social development, business management, Development studies, or other related field of studies
Required Professional Experience
- 2-3 years relevant experience, at least 1 year must be in similar position; Gender project officer and experience working on peace-building or security sector reform in a conflict-affected environment
- Experience in working in a fragile areas and knowledge of the local context is advantageous
Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement
- The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically up to 20 % of the time
