Internship offers an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain practical experience in LFS work, specifically in addressing issues related to community engagement.
The intern will assist in a variety of tasks within LFS department, working closely with the team to support community-based LFS activities, ensure the safety and dignity of individuals, and contribute to the documentation and monitoring of LFS activities at the duty location .
Position: Livelihoods and Food Security-Intern
Generic professional competencies:
- Recently graduate with a degree and have passed the university exit exam in Agricultural economics, agronomy, agricultural science, rural development and agricultural extension and other related field of study. Preference is given to candidates with higher academic achievements.
- Basic knowledge of LFS activities
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team and collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Interested in working within the humanitarian sector and contributing to LFS initiatives.
- Fluency in English is required.
Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:
- Good knowledge of the area and context in the Benishangul Gumuz Region
- Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in local languages.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good cultural awareness and sensitivity
- Some experience working on community mobilization activities in a humanitarian/recovery context.
- Fluency in local languages is a requirement.
