📌 Job Summary

The MEAL Officer supports the MEAL system of assigned projects, ensuring quality data collection, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting. The role involves close collaboration with MEAL leads, coordinators, and project teams to track progress, analyze impact, and promote organizational learning.


🔑 Key Responsibilities

  • Support project MEAL planning, monitoring, and evaluation processes in line with donor standards.
  • Ensure quality data collection, storage, and reporting using developed tools and GDPR‑compliant systems.
  • Provide technical support for project review meetings and indicator reporting.
  • Manage online data systems and ensure proper archiving of MEAL documents.
  • Conduct data analysis to assess project impact on communities and beneficiaries.
  • Promote organizational learning by documenting lessons learned and sharing best practices.
  • Coordinate with CFRM teams to ensure accountability and feedback mechanisms are integrated.
  • Prepare presentations and fact sheets for internal and external use.

🎓 Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Development Studies, Economics, Statistics, or related fields.
  • 2–4 years of experience in MEAL or similar roles (agriculture/development project experience preferred).
  • Experience in developing M&E plans, training staff, and conducting quantitative/qualitative data analysis.
  • Knowledge of Oromifa language is mandatory; proficiency in Amharic and English required.
  • Previous INGO experience and familiarity with humanitarian standards.
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to work under pressure and in diverse cultural settings.
  • Three strong references required.
