British Embassy in Ethiopia is seeking to recruit a high calibre candidate for its human resources team. The jobholder is expected to support in improving the people practices; such as recruitment, induction, data management, etc. and has the ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances. 

Position 1: Humanitarian Policy and Reporting Officer SEO

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Experience of working on humanitarian issues (e.g. for government, international or national humanitarian organisations, and/or donors).
  • Excellent analytical and data analysis skills, and good experience presenting information in clear information products using relevant IT packages.
  • A proven ability to communicate clearly and confidently, verbally and in writing.
  • Strong understanding of Ethiopian humanitarian policies and architecture.
  • Excellent inter-personal and team working skills, with an ability to work flexibly and adapt to emerging issues.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in written and spoken English.

Salary: USD $2,103,01

Position 2: Finance Analyst HEO

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance. Full or Part qualified member of one of the five Consultative Committees of Accounting Bodies [CCAB] i.e. ACCA; CIPFA; ICAEW; ICAI or ICAS; or CIMA; or a European or international equivalent qualification.
  • Work Experience: A minimum of 7 years’ experience in financial management roles in the aid sector/ development agencies supporting development programme delivery and operational finance.
  • Advice: Experience of working with multiple teams and skills in adapting financial terminology to suit a wide variety of audiences.
  • IT Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Demonstrate resilience with the ability to work in a busy, challenging and rapidly changing environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of risk management.

Salary: USD $1,439.40

Position 3: Finance Lead G7

Essential qualifications, skills and experience  

  • Qualification: Applicants must be member of one of the five Consultative Committees of Accounting Bodies [CCAB] i.e. ACCA; CIPFA; ICAEW; ICAI or ICAS; or CIMA; or international equivalent qualification.
  • Work Experience: A minimum of 10 years’ experience, preferably in the aid sector/ development agencies supporting project delivery and with experience in managing teams.
  • Strategic decision Support: business partnering engagement through providing professional advice and guidance on management information and financial aspects of aid programmes and operational.
  • Counter fraud: raising risk management awareness and supporting the business to identify and manage organisational and programme risks and design controls accordingly.
  • IT Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Proficient written and spoken English.

Desirable qualifications, skills and experience  

  • Good understanding of overall delivery risk management.
  • Background in audit and in procurement.

Salary: USD $2,763.20 (Base salary is subject to tax and other statutory deductions)

Position 4: Programme Manager HEO, Green Cities and Infrastructure Programme

Essential qualifications, skills and experience  

  • Language requirements: English and Amaric – Level of language required: Fluent in oral and written English and Amaric 
  • Proven programme management experience, and Microsoft Office literate

Desirable qualifications, skills and experience  

  • Prior experience working on energy and infrastructure related projects in Ethiopia
