Position Overview: Fixed Asset – Financial Accountant

Coca-Cola Ethiopia is looking for a qualified and experienced Financial Accountant (Fixed Asset) to join its finance team in Addis Ababa. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate accounting and reporting of the company’s fixed assets while maintaining compliance with internal policies, international accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Fixed Asset Management

  • Maintain an accurate and updated fixed asset register.
  • Record acquisitions, transfers, and disposals of assets on time.
  • Conduct regular asset tagging and verification.
  • Perform periodic asset audits to ensure accuracy and accountability.

2. Compliance and Policy Adherence

  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies and IFRS standards.
  • Support both internal and external audit processes.

3. Financial Reporting and Reconciliation

  • Prepare asset reconciliations and depreciation schedules.
  • Report on asset movements, balances, and variances monthly.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end financial closures.

4. Asset Planning and Control

  • Support annual budgeting and forecasting for asset management.
  • Monitor capitalization thresholds and track asset life cycles.
  • Collaborate with procurement, operations, and finance departments.

5. Systems and Records Management

  • Manage fixed asset records in ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
  • Maintain documentation and ensure accessibility for audits.

6. Support and Coordination

  • Work closely with internal teams and external auditors.
  • Provide guidance to junior accountants or asset clerks when needed.

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Financial Accounting or General Ledger roles, preferably within manufacturing or FMCG environments.
  • Experience using ERP systems (SAP or equivalent) is an advantage.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and fixed asset accounting.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
