People in Need is a non-governmental, non-profit organization founded on the ideals of humanity, freedom, equality and solidarity.
People in Need was established in 1992 by a group of Czech war correspondents, journalists and activists and has grown to become one of the largest non-profit organization in Central and Eastern Europe.
Throughout our 30 years of existence, People in Need continues to engage in humanitarian aid, development cooperation, education and social inclusion.
We have been operating in Ethiopia since 2003, working in Five regions; Oromia, Central Ethiopia, South Ethiopia, Sidama and Tigray in different multi sectoral projects in the areas of development and emergency response.

PIN would like to invite energetic, disciplined, responsible Female intern applicant to work under Finance department
Length of internship: for 6 months
Number required: 1 (one)
Salary: 6,500 ETB
Place of Work: - Based in Hawassa Sidama Region with frequent field travel to PIN’s project sites in different regions as required.
Job Role: Under the general guidance and supervision of Senior Finance Officer officers, the Intern will learn in assisting planning, coordination and follow up of grass root level activities for finance department.
Technical areas of learning /for interns to involve
- Preparing of cash payment voucher, Invoice, withholding tax payment voucher.
- Filing and arranging of Invoice, cash and other finance related documents.
- Make sure that each month payroll is signed by Hawassa staff members
- Follow-up on cash disbursement process at cash disbursement spot.
- Closely working with cashier & Accountant to support & to build capacity in managing finance related issues.
- Scanning & archiving of all finance related documents.
- Any other finance related tasks as required and assigned.
Project related areas of learning/for interns to involve
- Support the finance team in planning, needs assessment/identification, proposal preparation, budgeting, monitoring, reporting
- Attain adequate results in proper quality and in time
- Meet project related deadlines
- Provide finance officers with weekly plans and reports of activities achieved. The reports shall be submitted every Thursday morning and will contain a shortlist of activities achieved in the past week and activities planned for the next one
- Assist the finance team when a need arises
TEAM REQUIREMENTS
- Maintain good personal relations in the team
- Actively collaborate with PIN’s other ongoing finance team members in the finance operation areas when required
- Any other tasks as requested by the line managers
PIN stipulates the right to assign the Intern any other kind of work derived from his specialization. In case of urgent work and such like the Intern may be asked to work overtime as well as during public and other holidays.
In case that larger amount of different tasks is to be fulfilled by the Intern at the same time, the Intern shall accomplish the urgent and more important duties first.
Furthermore, the Intern is responsible for:
- Correctness and completeness of information acquired
- ensuring timely and effective implementation of finance activities and meeting set results
- prompt provision of all relevant information to finance coordinator/finance officers
- archiving of all entrusted and acquired documents in proper manner
The Intern is obligated not to purvey any information concerning any of PIN activities to outsiders (including former PIN employees, who may no more be informed about current process in PIN).

The Intern takes over the responsibility for all entrusted material or cash. The Intern is obligated to cover all damages or losses caused by his carelessness. The Agreement of Liability of Assets has been signed separately.

Job Requirements
- Minimum BA degree in Accounting and Finance, Management and other related fields of study from a recognized higher education institution
- Only Graduates of 2023 or 2024 E.C
- Only zero years of work experience required
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Basic knowledge of Accounting Finance
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Good judgment regarding confidentiality and respect for sensitive materials
- Ability to work in a team environment
