Job Position: Financial Manager

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with accounting standards and regulations; prepare and present financial statements and reports for company management, corporate leadership, and external stakeholders.
  • Manage and optimize cash flow, including forecasting, working capital management, and liquidity planning.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to protect the company's financial well-being; identify and mitigate financial risks such as currency fluctuation, interest rate changes, and credit risk.
  • Oversee financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and procurement. Ensure efficient and effective financial processes and controls are in place.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial reporting requirements, and other applicable laws. Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate successful audits.
  • Evaluate, implement, and maintain financial systems and technology solutions to enhance financial reporting, analysis, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (senior management, department heads and cross-functional teams) to provide financial insights and support decision-making. Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders (banks, auditors, regulatory authorities).
  • Lead and manage the finance team across all sales points, providing framework, technical guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to optimize team performance.
  • Conduct review and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial data, including variance analysis and identification of unusual items.

Salary: Negotiable, commensurate with experience and qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration (MBA), Business Management, or a related field.
  • Preferred: A professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA – part-qualified or full) is a distinct advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles for candidates with a Master’s degree.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree.

Required Competencies & Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Good understanding of Ethiopian tax laws and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
  • Proficiency in Peachtree software.
  • Who has worked at import-export companies and trading PLC’s
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience in trading, construction, or manufacturing companies.
  • Exposure to multi-business or diversified organizations.
  • Experience supporting audits and implementing financial controls.
