BURN Ethiopia is looking for a Monitoring, Reporting & Verification (MRV) Coordinator who will play a key role in managing project operations, data quality, and reporting systems to support carbon monitoring and stove usage programs.


Position: MRV Coordinator – Ethiopia

About the Role

The MRV Coordinator is responsible for coordinating teams and processes to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and with high-quality data. The position involves survey setup, field team management, data analysis, and interdepartmental coordination to produce accurate and timely reports used by commercial and operational teams.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the MRV Manager and internal teams to design surveys suited to Ethiopia’s stove usage patterns and local fuel culture.
  • Develop and customize training materials for field teams and enumerators.
  • Recruit, train, and manage field teams for household-level feasibility and monitoring studies.
  • Oversee budget mobilization and resource allocation for MRV projects.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and checklists to ensure data quality and compliance.
  • Conduct process reviews, audits, and quality control checks on data collection and reporting.
  • Ensure data is handled according to company standards and best practices.
  • Coordinate closely with departments such as Carbon Operations, Data & Analytics, and Customer Experience.
  • Generate monthly performance and issue reports, identifying root causes and recommending improvements.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in data collection, field team coordination, or monitoring and evaluation roles.
  • Proven leadership experience managing multi-location field teams.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills in data handling and auditing.
  • Proficiency with data collection tools such as KoboToolbox, Enketo, or similar platforms.
  • Competent in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience working in humanitarian, carbon, or social impact projects is a plus.
  • Fluent in English (Anglophone background preferred).
