National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) Vacancy Announcement – 2026

The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), established under Article 102 of the FDRE Constitution, is an independent institution responsible for organizing and overseeing elections and referendums across the country. Since its inception, NEBE has successfully conducted five national elections, two local elections, and six referendums.

Following reforms introduced in 2019 under Proclamation No. 1133/2019, NEBE continues to strengthen its operations with a dedicated management board and expanded regional presence. To support its mission, NEBE is now recruiting qualified professionals for the following positions:

1. Cashier

  • Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s in Accounting & Finance, Economics, Business, or related fields
  • Experience: 0 years for Master’s, 3 years for Bachelor’s
  • Skills: Basic mathematics, IFMIS system knowledge
  • Duty Stations: Shashemene, Nekemte, Jimma, Gode, Debre Birhan, Bonga

2. Junior Finance Expert II

  • Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s in Accounting & Finance, Economics, Business, or related fields
  • Experience: 2 years for Master’s, 4 years for Bachelor’s
  • Skills: Financial rules & regulations, tax laws, payroll preparation, budgeting, IFMIS proficiency, accuracy, attention to detail, communication skills
  • Requirement: Must not be a member of a political party
  • Duty Stations: Adama, Shashemene, Dessie, Gonder, Debre Birhan, Bonga

3. ICT Support Expert

  • Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s in Computer Science, IT, Computer Networks, or related fields
  • Experience: 5 years for Master’s, 7 years for Bachelor’s
  • Skills: ICT support, electoral process knowledge, reporting, documentation, payroll management, local language proficiency preferred
  • Requirement: Must not be a member of a political party
  • Duty Stations: Shashemene, Gode, Bonga

4. CVE and Inclusive Expert

  • Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s in Education, Gender & Inclusion, Curriculum Development, or related fields
  • Experience: 5 years for Master’s, 7 years for Bachelor’s
  • Skills: Electoral process knowledge, reporting, documentation, language proficiency preferred
  • Duty Stations: Shashemene, Gode

5. Political Party Affairs & Election Operation Expert

  • Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s in Political Science, Development Studies, Human Rights, Law, Project Management, Economics, Public Administration, or related fields
  • Experience: 5 years for Master’s, 7 years for Bachelor’s
  • Duty Stations: Shashemene, Gode

6. Finance Expert

  • Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s in Accounting & Finance, Economics, Business, or related fields
  • Experience: 5 years for Master’s, 7 years for Bachelor’s
  • Skills: Financial rules & regulations, tax laws, payroll preparation, budgeting, IFMIS proficiency, accuracy, communication skills

8. Logistics Expert

9. Procurement Expert

  • Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s in Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Management, Economics, Purchasing & Supplies Management, Marketing, or related fields
  • Experience: 5 years for Master’s, 7 years for Bachelor’s
  • Duty Stations: Nekemte, Jimma, Gode, Debre Birhan, Bonga

10. Frontend Developer

  • Education: BSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related fields
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years
  • Technical Skills:
    • HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+)
    • React.js, Vue.js, or Angular
    • CSS preprocessors (Sass, Less), CSS-in-JS (Styled Components, Emotion)
    • Build tools (Webpack, Vite, Babel), npm/yarn
    • Git (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket)
  • Preferred: TypeScript, PWAs, WCAG accessibility, headless CMS (Strapi, Contentful), Next.js/Gatsby, Docker, CI/CD, AWS/Vercel/Netlify
