Plan International Ethiopia Vacancy 2025 – Finance Officer (ECHO Project)

The organization is now looking for a qualified and motivated professional for the following position under the ECHO-funded project.


Position: Finance Officer

Location: Dibate, Benishangul-Gumuz, Ethiopia
Type of Role: ECHO Project
Grade: C1
Reports to: Emergency Project Coordinator
Deadline: December 6, 2025


Role Overview

The Finance Officer will provide financial management support for donor-funded activities at the sub-office level. This includes managing payments, ensuring compliance with Plan International’s internal financial systems, and making sure donor regulations (especially ECHO standards) are strictly followed.

The position holder will also maintain accurate financial records, support timely reporting, and provide guidance to non-finance team members on financial procedures and compliance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Handle day-to-day financial transactions for the sub-office.
  • Ensure all expenditures are aligned with donor rules, internal policies, and approved budgets.
  • Manage proper coding, posting, documentation, and record keeping.
  • Ensure compliance with ECHO grant requirements.
  • Prepare and submit timely financial reports.
  • Support staff by providing guidance on finance procedures and compliance.
  • Maintain effective communication with technical teams and project leadership.
  • Participate in safeguarding and gender equality compliance in all financial operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting & Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or related fields.
  • Minimum 3 years of practical experience, preferably with INGOs.
  • Strong proficiency in SAP or similar financial systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability.
  • Experience working with donor-funded grants, especially ECHO, is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
