Production Coordinator Ethiopia

Role Purpose

This role is accountable for managing and executing the full life cycle of process orders—from creation to closure.
A key success factor for this position is ensuring real-time and accurate updates in SAP and Maestro for all activities related to commercial maize seed production across processing plants in Ethiopia, and maintaining full compliance with SAP processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

Processing Order & Batch Life Cycle Management

• Collaborate with the ERD Master Data Team to ensure proper and complete master data setup for the processing plant.
• Review planned orders in Maestro with the Plant Planner and convert required orders into firmed orders.
• Convert PLO to PRO by creating processing orders in SAP for DS-Bulk, CS-Bulk, CS-KGWB, CT-Bulk and TB across all Ethiopia processing locations.
• Manage the creation of batches (all stages), updating batch characteristics and relevant information.
• Issue process orders to the shop floor and ensure execution against the assigned batches.
• Weekly conversion of open orders to Confirmation Status after verifying that the shop floor team has completed required goods movements and mass balance for each batch per process order.
• Participate in monthly physical stock counts in support of Product Supply.

Issue Resolution & Error Management

• Monitor and escalate SAP system errors, ensuring timely correction and closure.
• Report and address deviations from SAP standards and requirements.

People & Collaboration (How We Show Up)

• Support the professional growth of colleagues by offering continuous feedback and participating in SAP (PP module) training.
• Provide informational support to EMEA colleagues regarding SAP PP module functionality and best practices.
• Promote knowledge sharing and continuous learning within the team.

Documentation & Communication

• Maintain a structured archive of documents and communications related to processing operations across Ethiopia processing plants and production stations.

OnePSS & Continuous Improvement

• Participate in 5S activities and internal audits to ensure compliance with workplace standards.
• Actively contribute to TIER 3 and TIER 2 meetings and maintain data accuracy on visual boards.
• Lead and support problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 5 Why, Quick Kaizen) and manage assigned continuous improvement initiatives.
• Track improvement suggestions related to HSE, quality, and efficiency using the red/blue tag system, ensuring timely action on assigned items.
• Participate in the commissioning of new applications and act as a role model for operators.
• Maintain full compliance with safety and internal control requirements.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role
• Experience in production planning or supply chain management
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in SAP and MS Office applications
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multifunctional teams
• Ability to work under pressure, manage shifting priorities, and perform in a fast-paced environment
• Prior experience in the agriculture or seed industry is an added advantage
• Knowledge of seed production, handling, or processing
• Fluency in English required
