Industry Five is seeking a qualified and motivated Production Team Leader (Assembly Line Lead) to join its manufacturing operations in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The role focuses on supervising assembly line operations to achieve daily production, quality, and safety targets while driving continuous improvement.

Production Team Leader (Assembly Line Lead)

Role Summary

The Production Team Leader coordinates assembly line activities to ensure daily production goals are met while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. The role involves supervising operators, balancing workflows, monitoring production metrics, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, assign, and monitor operator tasks to meet daily production schedules
• Supervise and coach junior, mid-level, and senior operators in line with SOPs and safety standards
• Track production metrics such as output, defect rates, downtime, and material usage
• Escalate operational issues and deviations to the Production Manager
• Conduct performance evaluations and recommend training or development actions
• Lead shift handovers and facilitate daily line meetings
• Update SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) boards
• Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions
• Train and cross-train operators to improve flexibility and skill coverage
• Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, 5S, and Kaizen
• Maintain discipline, housekeeping, and safety compliance on the production floor

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum 3 years of manufacturing or assembly experience
• At least 2 years in a team leader or supervisory role
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Practical knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, 5S, and basic quality tools
• BSc in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field is preferred
