📌 Position Overview

The PURE Business Advisor will work under the supervision of the Horti‑LIFE Green Growth Project Manager and collaborate with advisors in PURE, TVET, and Innovation Grant Facility. The role focuses on building a sustainable PURE ecosystem by supporting enterprises, facilitating partnerships, and scaling renewable energy solutions in horticulture.


🔑 Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Develop and monitor PURE financial instruments.
  • Provide advisory services to companies in solar irrigation, biodigesters, cold storage, and agro‑processing.
  • Lead business plan competitions under the Innovation Grant Facility.
  • Support sustainable business models and financing mechanisms for PURE adoption.

Market System Development

  • Facilitate partnerships between technology providers, agribusinesses, financial institutions, and farmers.
  • Integrate PURE into agricultural markets with inclusivity for women, youth, and marginalized groups.
  • Drive farmer uptake through extension, marketing, and on‑farm demonstrations.
  • Track adoption pathways and address bottlenecks.

Gender, Youth & Inclusion (GESI)

  • Embed GESI in product design, outreach, and financing.
  • Prioritize women and youth entrepreneurs and monitor equitable outcomes.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)

  • Define and report indicators on adoption, productivity, income, jobs, and GESI.
  • Produce case studies and briefs for donors and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with MEL teams to measure impact and ensure alignment with project goals.

🎓 Qualifications

  • MSc in Business Management, Economics, or related field (minimum 6 years relevant experience).
  • Bachelor’s degree with 9 years relevant experience also considered.
  • At least 5 years’ experience coaching agri‑businesses.
  • Proven experience in mentoring/coaching programmes, preferably in PURE markets.
  • Strong leadership, partnership development, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
  • Analytical, proactive, and solution‑driven mindset.
