The St. Paul Institute for Reproductive Health and Rights (SPIRHR) is recruiting 40 Data Collectors (Quantitative & Qualitative) for a nationwide study on IUCD service readiness at health posts across Ethiopia. This short‑term assignment is an excellent opportunity for health professionals with research experience to contribute to evidence‑based policy and program improvement in reproductive health. SPIRHR Job Vacancies 2026 – Data Collectors (Quantitative & Qualitative)

Location: Assigned within one of seven regions (Oromia, Amhara, Benishangul‑Gumuz, Sidama, South Ethiopia, South West Ethiopia, Somali)
Employment Type: Contract (short‑term, approx. 1 month)

About SPIRHR

SPIRHR is a local NGO based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, dedicated to advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) through clinical services, training, research, and advocacy.


Study Objective

The study will assess the feasibility, facility readiness, and level of implementation for IUCD services at health posts in Ethiopia, generating evidence to inform program improvement and policy decision‑making.


Positions Available

1. Quantitative Data Collectors (30)

Responsibilities:

  • Administer structured questionnaires at selected health posts
  • Collect facility‑level service readiness and implementation data
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of data collection
  • Adhere to ethical standards and study protocols
  • Work closely with supervisors and the central research team

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience with facility‑based surveys (SPA & SARA preferred)
  • Familiarity with paper‑based and electronic tools (ODK, Kobo)

2. Qualitative Data Collectors (10)

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), In‑Depth Interviews (IDIs), and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs)
  • Facilitate discussions with health workers, supervisors, community stakeholders, and partners
  • Record, document, and summarize qualitative data accurately
  • Translate interviews from local languages into English for analysis
  • Maintain confidentiality and ethical research standards

Additional Requirements:

  • Proven experience in IDIs, KIIs, FGDs
  • Strong facilitation, probing, and note‑taking skills
  • Experience in qualitative health research highly preferred

General Requirements (Both Positions)

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Public Health, Nursing, Midwifery, Health Officer, or related fields
  • Prior experience in health‑related data collection or research (SPA & SARA preferred)
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
  • Willingness to travel and work in assigned regions
  • Fluency in English and at least one relevant local language

Duration of Assignment

  • Short‑term (approx. 1 month, including training, data collection, and debriefing)
