Bank of Abyssinia (BoA) is inviting qualified and experienced professionals to apply for the position of Associate UX/UI Designer.

Position: Associate UX/UI Designer
Educational Requirements

BSc Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related disciplines
-
Certification in UX/UI or Graphic Design is an added advantage
Experience Requirements

Minimum 4 years of professional experience
-
At least 3 years of hands-on experience in UX/UI or Graphic Design
-
Experience in the banking industry is a plus
Job Objective
To design intuitive and user-friendly digital experiences and user interfaces for Bank of Abyssinia’s products, with increasing levels of ownership and independence.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Associate UX/UI Designer will:
UX Research & Discovery
-
Conduct user research using interviews, surveys, usability testing, field studies, and competitor analysis

Assist in gathering insights and translating research findings into wireframes and design concepts

Contribute to defining and updating user personas based on research data

Support problem definition by summarizing user pain-points and needs
Design & Prototyping
-
Support the creation of intuitive UI components including icons, layouts, and interactive elements
-
Build low- to mid-fidelity wireframes and contribute to prototypes
-
Help design user flows, interaction models, and screen transitions

Organize content using information architecture principles and sitemaps
-
Explore and present design ideas through sketching, storyboarding, card sorting, and other ideation methods

Assist in developing user scenarios and use cases

Contribute to maintaining UI/UX design libraries and documentation
Collaboration & Implementation

Work closely with IT teams to ensure the final UI implementation matches approved designs

Participate in design critiques and agile team discussions
-
Test developed applications to verify UI/UX alignment
-
Apply core UX principles, including usability, hierarchy, accessibility, and user psychology
Operational & Reporting Responsibilities

Support daily team management tasks such as planning, organizing, and tracking design activities

Assist in establishing user-focused metrics and monitoring customer satisfaction

Prepare and submit periodic reports

Serve as backup for the UX/UI Designer when required
-
Perform other related duties as assigned
