Dashen Brewery Share Company is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead human resources and general services at our Debre Birhan Plant. The role partners closely with the HR Director and plant leadership to drive HR strategy, build a high-performance culture, and ensure compliance with Ethiopian labor law and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

HR Advice, Support & Coaching

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for plant/operational roles and ensure effective onboarding.
  • Coach managers on performance management, conduct issues, and corrective actions.
  • Guide the fair application of disciplinary procedures in line with policies, CBA, and law.
  • Interpret employment legislation and help implement people policies.
  • Reinforce leadership competencies and contribute to a positive, safe, high-performance culture.

HR Systems & Design

  • Evaluate HR systems, processes, and policies; recommend and implement improvements with the HR Director’s approval.

HR Strategy

  • Embed company values and culture across the plant.
  • Partner with line managers on workforce planning (short- and long-term).
  • Design and maintain market-based pay structures aligned with company philosophy.
  • Build a talent pipeline in collaboration with HR leadership and support strategic HR initiatives.

HR Reporting & Performance

  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly HR reports using company systems; produce quarterly People Balance Sheet.
  • Support managers and team leaders through the performance cycle (goal setting, reviews, development and PIPs as needed).

About You (Qualifications & Experience)

  • Education: BA in Business Administration, Human Resource & Organizational Development, Public Administration, Management or related field.
  • Experience: 8–12 years of progressive HR experience (FMCG/beverage preferred), including 4+ years in a managerial role. Experience outside HR (business line exposure) is a plus.
  • Know-how: Strong grasp of Ethiopian Labor Law, HR policies, compensation frameworks, talent management, and employee relations.
