Development Expertise Center (DEC) is a national civil society organization (CSO) registered in Ethiopia. DEC implements programs in Child Well‑being & Education Development, Gender & Life Skill Development, Employable Skills Development, Advocacy, and Humanitarian Emergency Programs. The organization operates in Amhara, Afar, Oromia, Tigray, South West Ethiopia, Gambela, Benishangul Gumuz, and Addis Ababa.


📌 Open Positions

1. Cashier

  • Duty Station: Ambo & Woliso
  • Number Required: 2

Responsibilities

  • Process payments according to organizational policy.
  • Maintain and file financial and budgetary documents.
  • Submit timely financial reports to head office.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and verify budget compliance.

Qualifications

  • BA in Accounting & Finance.
  • Minimum 3 years’ NGO experience.
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, financial software).
  • Strong knowledge of IPSAS & Peachtree.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fluency in the local language.

2. Finance Coordinator

  • Duty Station: Addis Ababa
  • Number Required: 1

Responsibilities

  • Participate in budget preparation and issue approved plans.
  • Maintain financial and budgetary records.
  • Conduct internal audits and support visits.
  • Review and recommend improvements to accounting systems.
  • Ensure timely responses to financial communications.
  • Monitor and submit accounting and budgetary reports.
  • Assist in annual budget consolidation.

Qualifications

  • MA in Accounting & Finance or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years’ proven work experience.
  • Advanced PC skills (MS Word, Excel, financial software).
  • Knowledge of government grant & contracting procedures.
  • Strong IPSAS & Peachtree skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
