About ELiDA

Empathy for Life Integrated Development Association (ELiDA) is a women-led, women’s rights, non-profit, and board-led Indigenous National Civil Society Organization (CSO). ELiDA works to address Ethiopia’s social, economic, and political challenges, with a strong focus on supporting women and girls through education, awareness creation, and advocacy against harmful traditional practices such as early marriage, female genital mutilation (FGM), and other harmful traditional practices (HTPs).


Position: Field Research Enumerator


Qualifications and Competencies

  • Diploma or higher in Community Development, Sociology, Social Sciences, Statistics, or related fields (Degree is an advantage).
  • Proven experience in field surveys, preferably in similar settings.
  • Must be a current resident in one of the listed project locations.
  • Strong knowledge of local communities, with cultural sensitivity and respect for norms.
  • Proficiency in electronic data collection tools (Survey CTO, ODK, Kobo Collect).
  • Excellent communication skills in English, Amharic, and relevant local languages.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends when required.
  • Commitment to safeguarding policies and ethical standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attend virtual training sessions.
  • Explain survey objectives to participants and obtain informed consent.
  • Conduct surveys using tablets/smartphones and review collected data for accuracy.
  • Follow data collection protocols and ensure confidentiality.
  • Prepare necessary tools and equipment before fieldwork.
  • Conduct in-person or phone interviews as assigned.
  • Participate in daily debriefing meetings with supervisors.
  • Maintain proper care of project equipment and return it after the assignment.

Required Equipment
