We are seeking a motivated and qualified System Administrator to join our Addis Ababa headquarters.

Position: System Administrator

Location: Addis Ababa

Qualifications

• MSc or BSc in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience in System Administration, SAN administration, or Virtual Systems Administration.

Purpose of the Role

The System Administrator will provide tier III technical support for ECX’s Server and Storage Area Network (SAN) at the headquarters, Disaster Recovery (DR) site, Head Office Trading Centre, and Regional Trading Centers. The role ensures optimal operation, security, and availability of all server and storage systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize ECX Trading Servers, Clearing & Settlement systems, Active Directory, and all hardware/server resources.
• Ensure backups of critical systems, including application servers, email, and files.
• Install, rebuild, and repair servers and virtual environments.
• Monitor, record, analyze, troubleshoot, and report system and application events.
• Administer Microsoft and VMware Hypervisors, Virtual Machines, Exchange services, DNS, DHCP, and other critical services.
• Maintain local documentation and enforce security and audit policies.
• Administer storage infrastructure, SAN zoning/masking, and related security technologies.
• Collaborate with System, Network, Security, and Application Development teams for optimal solutions.
• Participate in system/project testing, rollout, and certification.
• Ensure all ECX employees are authenticated and authorized to access server resources.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
