FAO Internship Programme 2025 | United Nations Internship Opportunities

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is pleased to announce its Internship Programme 2025. This United Nations internship opportunity is designed for talented young women and men who are motivated to contribute their perspectives, innovative ideas, and research experience in FAO’s priority areas.

The FAO Internship Programme gives selected candidates the chance to gain international work experience while supplementing their academic knowledge. It also helps interns understand FAO’s mandate, global programmes, and contributions to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). At the same time, FAO benefits from the skills of young professionals specializing in relevant fields.


🌍 Eligibility Criteria for FAO Internship 2025

  • Nationality: Open to candidates who are nationals of FAO Member States.
  • Education: Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate programme at a recognized university, or be recent graduates.
  • Languages: Must have working knowledge of at least one FAO official language (English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, or Russian). Knowledge of a second language is an asset.
  • Age: Candidates must be aged 21–30 at the start of the internship.
  • Skills: Ability to work in an international, multicultural environment, strong communication skills, and good computer literacy.
  • Residence/Visa: Candidates should hold valid residence or immigration status in the duty station country before starting.
  • Family Restriction: Candidates with close family members (father, mother, brother, sister) employed by FAO are not eligible.
  • Duration: Assignments range from 3 to 11 months.
