In Ethiopia, Geneva Global is implementing the Leaders in Teaching Ethiopia (LiTE) program to improve teacher supply, instructional leadership, student access, retention, and transition to post-secondary education or dignified employment.


Open Positions (2 Categories)


1️⃣ Field Program Manager

Program: Leaders in Teaching Ethiopia (LiTE)

Position Overview

The Field Program Manager provides regional coordination and operational leadership for LiTE implementation. The role ensures quality delivery of all program pillars, including teacher development, leadership strengthening, access & inclusion, safeguarding, youth engagement, and ecosystem collaboration.

  • Benishangul-Gumuz Region (Assossa) – 1
  • Gambella Region (Gambella) – 1
  • Somali Region (Jigjiga) – 1
  • Southwest Ethiopia Peoples’ Region (SWEP) – Tercha (1), Bonga (1)
  • Sidama Region (Hawassa) – 1
  • Harari Region (Harar) – 1
    (Overseeing Harar, Dire Dawa, East & West Hararghe)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead regional annual and quarterly program planning
  • Oversee school-level implementation of Competency-Based Curriculum support
  • Coordinate teacher development, leadership strengthening, and youth engagement
  • Conduct regular field visits and quality assurance
  • Engage Regional Education Bureaus, WEOs, universities, CTEs, and TVETs
  • Support access, retention, transition, and community career hubs
  • Integrate safeguarding, GESI, and youth participation across activities
  • Support MEAL data verification and learning documentation
  • Produce weekly, monthly, and quarterly regional reports

Qualifications & Experience

  • MA or BA in Education, Development Studies, Management, or related fields
  • Minimum 5 years (MA) or 7 years (BA) of program management experience
  • Experience working with regional education systems
  • Strong leadership, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Knowledge of secondary education reform, CBC, safeguarding, and inclusion
  • Local language proficiency is an advantage

2️⃣ Gender Equality, Safeguarding and Inclusion (GESI) Officer

Program: Leaders in Teaching Ethiopia (LiTE)

Position Overview

The GESI Officer leads the integration of gender equality, child safeguarding, disability inclusion, and youth-centered approaches across LiTE-supported secondary schools to ensure safe, inclusive, and empowering learning environments.

Duty Stations

  • Somali Region (Jigjiga) – 1
  • Southwest Ethiopia Peoples’ Region & Gambella Region – 1

Key Responsibilities

Gender Equality

  • Conduct gender assessments and support gender-responsive pedagogy
  • Facilitate girls’ clubs, mentorship programs, and alumni networks

Safeguarding & Child Protection

  • Implement safeguarding policies and risk mitigation plans
  • Train teachers, school leaders, and students
  • Strengthen reporting, referral, and survivor-centered case management

Disability Inclusion

  • Map students with disabilities and support referral pathways
  • Promote inclusive education and universal design for learning

Youth & Community Engagement

  • Support youth councils, clubs, and peer mentorship
  • Lead community sensitization and Back-to-Learning campaigns

Monitoring, Learning & Capacity Building

  • Collect and analyze GESI and safeguarding data
  • Document lessons learned and success stories
  • Train school staff and develop school-level GESI action plans

Qualifications & Experience

  • MA or BA in Gender Studies, Education, Social Work, Psychology, Development Studies, or related fields
  • Minimum 3 years (MA) or 5 years (BA) relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, GBV risk mitigation, child rights, and disability inclusion
  • Experience working with adolescents and school systems
  • Knowledge of local languages is an advantage
