 ICT/IT Teacher

Job Summary:

In striving to teach truth, equip generations and change the world for God’s glory, the secondary school teacher is responsible for planning and delivering high-quality instruction and learning activities, overseeing the classroom, ensuring students have opportunities to achieve their highest potential, and managing assessment of student progress. You will educate children in the classroom and outside, meet with students and parents to discuss education-related issues, and attend staff meetings. You will establish an engaging, developmentally appropriate, positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.

Duties & Responsibilities: Professional Knowledge

  • Demonstrate a high level of knowledge of relevant curriculum, and of learning and assessment theory
  • Undertake evaluation, assessment and monitoring of students in accordance with school guidelines and the Cambridge syllabus (where applicable)
  • Participate in in-house and/or external professional development in order to update and refine knowledge and skills including teaching, assessment, Christian Philosophy of Education and Biblical Worldview

Duties & Responsibilities: As Teacher

  • Demonstrate a high level of knowledge of relevant curriculum, and of learning and assessment theory
  • Undertake evaluation, assessment and monitoring of students in accordance with the school guidelines and the Cambridge syllabus (where applicable)
  • Participate in in-house and/or external professional development in order to update, refine and update skills
  • Prepare lesson plans and teach as per the allocated schedule by the Elementary Principal
  • Use a full range of teaching and assessment techniques that target identified needs/abilities
  • Ensure that all aspects of the curriculum are covered
  • Effectively manage the learning environment 
  • Develop a class environment that supports each student holistically 
  • Perform your duties efficiently and effectively, with honesty, integrity and fairness at all times
  • Participate in faculty and whole staff meetings as scheduled
  • Collaborate in the development of team and school programs as required
  • Actively supervise students during non-class times as scheduled
  • Participate in school activities outside of class time according to interest and need
  • Be an ambassador and advocate for Bingham Culture as laid out in The Bingham Culture guidelines
  • Facilitate open, engaging and positive communication between students, parents and staff
  • Communicate any student issues to supervisor
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned 

Duties & Responsibilities: Teams and Meetings

  • Participate in whole staff and faculty meetings as scheduled
  • Participate in peer and/or faculty mentoring and support programs
  • Collaborate in the development of team and school plans and programs

Duties & Responsibilities: Wider School Environment

  • Participate in student chapel regularly
  • Participate in school activities outside of class time according to interest and need
  • Actively supervise students during breaks and before/after school as scheduled
  • Comply with reasonable directions given by a supervisor/principal/leadership

Terms of Service:

  • Working hours: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm
  • When sick or in an emergency you will inform your supervisor…………………. Put a request through Bamboo HR.
  • Except for emergencies, do not use your personal phone to check social media etc. while on duty
  • The rules and regulations in the employee /staff handbook are part of the terms of service
  • Maintain proper certification (ie. ACSI certifications, teaching licenses, etc.), as relevant, in order to keep your work permit
  • Consult HR and your supervisor before planning Special Leave or Extended Leave
