Available Position

Intern – Support to CDSDR III & FGM-Prev Programmes

  • Number Required: 1
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Communication, Political Science, or related field (recent graduates only)
  • Experience: No professional experience required; prior internships in development cooperation, gender, or community engagement are an asset
  • Responsibilities:
    • Gain hands-on experience in project implementation, monitoring, and operational planning
    • Support activity tracking, partner reporting, and monitoring of community-based interventions
    • Assist in organizing workshops, meetings, dialogues, and trainings (materials, logistics, facilitation)
    • Coordinate with local partners (CSOs, NGOs, community-based organizations)
    • Organize and digitize project documentation on gender and social cohesion
    • Extract and synthesize insights from surveys and monitoring data
    • Draft short inputs for reports, presentations, and communication materials
    • Support administrative and operational processes within GIZ projects
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong interest in gender equality, women’s empowerment, and social cohesion
    • Analytical and clear writing skills; editing and basic design (Canva/Adobe) are assets
    • Organizational and document management skills
    • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital tools; social media experience is an advantage
  • Salary: As per GIZ internship standards
  • Place of Work: Jigjiga, Somali Region
  • Reports to: Programme Managers (CDSDR III & FGM-Prev)
