Open Positions

1. Logistics Technical Assistant – Ethiopia (Jijiga & Dolo Ado)

Job Summary:
Responsible for supporting NRC’s logistics operations, including fleet management, warehouse oversight, and transport coordination. Ensures compliance with NRC policies, donor requirements, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, and monitor transport of staff and materials.
  • Ensure NRC and hired vehicles are properly maintained and equipped.
  • Manage drivers and enforce NRC driving procedures.
  • Oversee warehouse operations: stock management, physical counts, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Prepare requisitions for spare parts, train drivers, and compile monthly vehicle/fuel reports.
  • Supervise packing, loading, and unloading of materials.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and compliance with NRC standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in fleet management and warehouse operations.
  • Previous NGO/humanitarian logistics experience desirable.
  • Strong MS Office skills and ability to manage sensitive information.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.

2. Cash and Markets Technical Officer – Ethiopia (Jijiga & Dolo Ado)

Job Summary:
Responsible for implementing and monitoring NRC’s Cash and Markets projects, ensuring beneficiaries most in need are reached, and promoting market‑based approaches. Provides technical support, reporting, and coordination with other NRC departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor Cash and Markets projects according to action plans.
  • Verify beneficiaries and support post‑distribution monitoring with M&E teams.
  • Draft weekly situation reports and assist with meeting minutes and translations.
  • Coordinate with finance, logistics, M&E, and compliance teams.
  • Conduct market assessments (price monitoring, vendor capacity, supply chain mapping).
  • Collaborate with program teams to conduct cash risk analyses.
  • Ensure proper documentation and secure storage of cash program records.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Development Studies, or related field.
  • Experience in cash transfer programming and market‑based approaches.
  • Strong understanding of crisis contexts and complex emergencies.
  • Ability to work under pressure in demanding environments.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; local language skills an asset.
