The Institute for Sustainable Development (ISD) is seeking a qualified and experienced
Plant Science / Agricultural Professional to support program implementation,
environmental sustainability initiatives, and community-based agricultural development projects.
📌 Job Summary
- Implement program/project activities related to plant science and sustainable agriculture.
- Support colleagues in preparing quarterly, semi-annual, and annual plans and budgets based on project outcomes.
- Identify challenges faced by beneficiaries and link them to ISD projects and relevant development actors.
- Promote partnerships and networking with ISD partners, Wereda/Regional/Federal stakeholders, and other institutions.
- Facilitate educational visits, awareness programs, and collaborate with media to share project experiences.
- Assist in creating and implementing sustainable environmental development plans within partner communities.
- Train, monitor, and evaluate composting, natural fertilizer production, and soil improvement activities.
- Identify eco-intensification methods for crop production.
- Support farmers in integrating agro-forestry practices into their farms.
- Advise colleagues on conducting action research with farmers, local experts, and professionals to enhance traditional and modern agricultural knowledge.
🎓 Educational Qualifications
- BSc or MSc in Plant Science or Agronomy.
🧠 Work Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience for BSc holders.
- Minimum 8 years of experience for MSc holders.
🛠 Required Skills
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Well-organized and detailed CV.
- Three (3) recommendation letters from government or NGO employers.
- Strong computer skills.
