Position Overview: Product Manager

As a Product Manager, you will lead the strategy, development, and launch of innovative hardware products. You will collaborate with international vendors, manage product lifecycles, and ensure compliance with global standards.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Roadmap

• Define and execute product strategies aligned with company goals.
• Conduct market research, user analysis, and competitive benchmarking.

Product Development Management

• Drive the product lifecycle from concept to launch.
• Create Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) detailing specs, regulations, and business needs.

ODM & Vendor Management

• Manage relationships with overseas Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs).
• Negotiate component sourcing, costing, and compliance with suppliers.
• Coordinate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and New Product Introduction (NPI).

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, operations, and marketing teams.
• Resolve technical, supply chain, and quality challenges with vendors.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure products meet regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
• Oversee testing, certification, and continuous improvement.

Financial Management

• Manage product P&L including BOM costs and margin targets.
• Drive value engineering and cost optimization.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

• 3+ years of product management experience (hardware or software).
• Strong market analysis, customer insights, and problem-solving skills.
• Agile/Scrum expertise with backlog grooming and sprint leadership.
• Proficiency with data analytics tools (SQL, GA, Mixpanel, etc.).
• Fluent in English and Amharic with excellent communication skills.
• Experience managing ODMs in China, Taiwan, or other hubs.
• Deep understanding of electronics components and supply chain dynamics.
• Strong negotiation and project management skills.
• Ability to travel internationally.

Preferred

• Experience in telecommunications, device sales, or logistics in African markets.
• Launching hardware products in emerging/low-saturation markets.
• Relevant certifications (PMP, Pragmatic PM, etc.).
