Available Job Positions
1. Project Assistant (Document Verification)
- Employment Type: Full-time
- Duty Station: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
- Reports to: IBG Programme Officer / IBG National Programme Officer
Key Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Follow up on document verification requests from embassies and respond in a timely manner
- Coordinate with the Document Verification team for verification at RRS, INVEA, and other issuing authorities
- Prepare official letters and maintain shared records of verification requests and outcomes
- Conduct verification of academic, professional, and vital event documents according to established procedures
- Generate detailed cost breakdowns, invoices, and statistical reports for document verification services
- Notify supervisors daily regarding completed tasks, challenges, and assignments
- Compile and disseminate weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual verification reports
- Initiate purchase orders and coordinate financial transactions with the Finance Unit for verification services
- Handle official documents securely, ensuring proper delivery confirmations and adherence to protocols
- Perform any other duties aligned with the role as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
- University degree in Law or Social Sciences plus 2 years of relevant experience in immigration, visa processing, vital event registration, or fraud detection, or
- College diploma in Social Sciences plus 4 years of relevant experience
- Prior experience with UN agencies, international organizations, or NGOs is an advantage
- Demonstrated experience in report writing, stakeholder coordination, and data management
Skills & Competencies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Amharic
- Proficiency in data management, document verification, and financial administration
- Knowledge of migration trends and Immigration & Border Governance (IBG) frameworks in Ethiopia
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
- Valid driving license is an advantage
