Currently, FHI 360’s Crisis Response team is expanding its humanitarian response to the Oromia Region in Eastern Borena, Ethiopia, in partnership with Pastoralist Concern (PC), supporting populations affected by conflict.


Job Summary

The Protection Caseworker provides critical administrative, technical, and programmatic support for humanitarian projects. You will assist in project coordination, documentation, logistics, financial processes, and stakeholder communications.


Key Responsibilities

Program Support & Administration:

  • Coordinate meetings, workshops, and events, including logistics and materials.
  • Prepare meeting notes, memos, and project documentation.
  • Maintain project files, document management systems, and stakeholder communications.
  • Assist with staff and consultant travel and expense reporting.
  • Support report preparation, distribution, and workplan finalization.

Technical & Operational Support:

  • Collect and review technical data; assist in basic analysis and reporting.
  • Conduct literature and software research under supervision.
  • Provide IT, HR, and security operational support.

Finance & Budget Support:

  • Process invoices, consultant agreements, and purchase orders.
  • Track budgets, expenses, and other project costs.

Business Development Support:

  • Assist in proposal preparation, formatting, desk research, and contract deliverables tracking.

Qualifications & Skills

Education:

  • Associate Degree or equivalent in Civil Society, Communication, Social Marketing, Economic Development, Education, Environment, Gender, Health, Nutrition, Research, Technology, Youth, or related field.

Experience:

  • 0–2 years of relevant administrative or project support experience (NGO experience preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and technical learning skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and attention to detail.
  • Fluent in English and local languages.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Physical & Travel Requirements

  • Typical office environment; extended periods of sitting/standing; ability to lift/move up to 5 lbs.
  • Travel requirement: less than 10%.
