The company is seeking a Specialist: Radio Access Planning (External) to design, plan, and optimize wireless radio access network systems.
Position: Specialist – Radio Access Planning
Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and optimize wireless radio access network systems, including radio propagation modeling, interference analysis, frequency planning, and parameter definition.
- Release nominal, redesign, and integration parameters accurately and on time.
- Continuously review frequency/PSC/PCI plans to reduce interference levels.
- Dimension new core and access network elements (LAC/TAC/RAC), signaling networks, interconnect routes, and IP Packet Core.
- Validate multi‑vendor EP, SAR approvals, and SSV validations.
- Develop network design reports and resilient Business Continuity Plans (BCP).
- Analyze requirements and impacts of new services.
- Monitor site quality KPIs through performance monitoring and drive test analysis.
- Analyze traffic trends, redistribute capacity, and optimize resources.
- Develop, test, and validate RF feature plan proposals.
- Define implementation guidelines for new features and coordinate trial testing.
- Update and standardize RAN databases and maintain configuration rules.
- Address coverage‑related customer complaints within agreed timelines.
- Participate in developing internal processes for radio network design and optimization.
- Prepare forecasts for inter MSC, MSR, and interconnect route requirements.
- Prepare annual CNP capacity requirements and test documentation with vendors.
- Research tools required for CNP analysis and design.
- Recommend parameter enhancements to improve radio network performance.
- Support rollout, implementation, cutover, rehoming, upgrades, troubleshooting, and optimization.
Qualifications
- Education: BSc. Honors degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with a focus on telecommunications.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in Radio & Access Core planning.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
- Practical knowledge of radio planning tools, capacity planning tools, MySQL, M2000, NetAct, Advanced Excel, Erlang‑B.
- Experience in process automation and database audits.
- SQL queries, Python scripting, QGIS/Google Earth/MapInfo, and crowd source analytics (advantage).
- Experience with Nokia and Huawei equipment (advantage).
- Knowledge of all RATs and interoperability.
- Expertise in traffic modeling, coverage and capacity forecasting, tele‑traffic engineering.
- Knowledge of core access planning, paging, and LAC dimensioning.
