Job Purpose

The Construction Project Coordinator will manage design and construction-related projects, including:

  • Following up on design works with architects.
  • Assessing situations and gathering information.
  • Coordinating with contractors, clients, and stakeholders to resolve project issues.
  • Ensuring compliance with construction regulations and company policies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain close communication with architects to ensure timely submission of design documentation.
  • Conduct regular site visits and monitor work progress.
  • Follow up on municipal approvals and expedite responses to regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze construction site incidents and review documentation such as blueprints, contracts, and safety reports.
  • Prepare formal reports summarizing findings, recommendations, and outcomes.
  • Ensure adherence to construction laws, safety regulations, and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders for effective project management.
  • Maintain accurate records of all project-related information.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction contract administration, quantity surveying, or project management.
  • Experience with Ethiopian construction contracts, government procurement guidelines, and civil law regulations is highly desirable.
  • Experience with banking or commercial building projects is an advantage.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of construction contract law and procurement practices.
  • Excellent organizational and document management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office; experience with project or contract management software is a plus.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Adaptability and teamwork skills.
