Junior Control Room Operator
Job Overview
The Control Room Operator will assist in monitoring ranger patrols, maintaining situational awareness, ensuring accurate communication, and supporting emergency response coordination. This role is central to the operational hub of Gambella National Park’s law enforcement department.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain radio and communication systems
- Maintain continuous communication with ranger patrols, observation posts, and rapid response teams
- Record all communications in official logbooks and update patrol status boards/maps
- Support emergency response coordination and operational deployments
- Compile daily operational summaries and incident reports
- Ensure functionality of communication equipment and report malfunctions
- Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct within the control room
Job Requirements

Education: Minimum BA in IT, ICT, or related fields

Experience:
- Previous experience in security operations, communications, administration, or law enforcement support is advantageous
- Experience in remote or conservation environments is beneficial

Skills:
- Basic computer literacy (Word, Excel, email, data entry)
- Ability to operate radios, GPS devices, and communication systems
- Basic knowledge of mapping/tracking systems
- Strong report writing and record‑keeping skills
