Afro-European Engineers (AEE) is inviting qualified fresh graduates to apply for the position of Junior BIM & CAD Engineer in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This opportunity is intended for recent Civil Engineering and Construction Management and Technology graduates who are interested in building their careers in Building Information Modeling (BIM), Computer-Aided Design (CAD), and structural engineering.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

Applicants for the Junior BIM & CAD Engineer position must meet the following requirements:

Educational Qualifications

  • BSc degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management and Technology.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 3.00.
  • Graduates of 2017 E.C. or 2025/2026 G.C. from recognized Ethiopian higher education institutions are encouraged to apply.

Technical Skills and Competencies

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows, internet browsing, and email.
  • Strong visualization skills.
  • Willingness to learn and work with BIM and CAD software for structural detailing.
  • Interest in construction quality and structural detailing practices.
  • Ability to produce accurate, clear, complete, cost-effective, and constructible engineering drawings.
  • Critical-thinking skills and an understanding of multidisciplinary project work.

Desired Skills (Not Mandatory)

The following skills are advantageous but are not mandatory:

  • Knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Experience using Autodesk Revit through academic or personal projects.
  • Familiarity with Autodesk AutoCAD.
  • Artificial intelligence (AI) skills.

Additional Requirement

  • Structural formwork detailing.
  • Reinforcement detailing.
  • Pre-tensioning details.
  • Structural steel detailing.
  • Multidisciplinary structural project work.

The role emphasizes producing high-quality engineering drawings that meet technical requirements and support practical construction.
