Assistant VGIP Data Management & MRV Officer – VITA/RTI Ethiopia

Job Description:
VITA/RTI Ethiopia, through its Vita Green Impact Fund (VGIF) program, is hiring an Assistant VGIP Data Management & MRV Officer to support data collection, management, monitoring, reporting, and verification of carbon finance projects. This role ensures accurate, efficient, and timely handling of operational and carbon-related data to drive clean water access, fuel-efficient stove adoption, and forestry initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain VGIP data management and MRV systems.
  • Collect, organize, clean, and analyze project data.
  • Create and manage survey templates and reporting tools.
  • Conduct regular data quality checks and prepare reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Support training and capacity building in data management, climate finance, and voluntary carbon market methodologies (including Gold Standard).
  • Collaborate with field teams and conduct site visits.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • BSc/MSc in Statistics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Systems.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in data management and MRV systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with Kobo Toolbox.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and reporting skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Amharic.
  • Willingness to travel for fieldwork.
