The International Institute for Primary Health Care β Ethiopia (IPHC-E), hosted by CCRDA, serves as a global hub for learning from Ethiopiaβs experience in primary health care (PHC). The Institute shares insights from both historical and contemporary global PHC experiences.
Position Summary
The Driver/Liaison Officer plays a dual role:

Providing safe and reliable transportation services.

Acting as a liaison with government offices, banks, embassies, NGOs, and service providers.
The role also supports logistics, minor procurement, field operations, and vehicle management.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Driving
-
Safely transport staff and visitors.
-
Maintain daily vehicle cleanliness and roadworthiness.
-
Perform routine vehicle checks and minor repairs.
-
Keep accurate vehicle logbooks.
-
Ensure insurance, registration, and inspections are up to date.
-
Report accidents, damages, or mechanical issues immediately.
-
Adhere to Ethiopian traffic laws and CCRDA driving policies.
Liaison & Administrative Support
-
Facilitate communication with government offices, NGOs, and embassies.
-
Process visas, work permits, customs clearances, and tax-related documents.
-
Collect and deliver official documents, parcels, and correspondence.
-
Follow up on procurement and office-related errands.
-
Handle sensitive documents with confidentiality.
-
Support staff with per diem settlements and minor administrative tasks.
Qualifications & Experience
-
Education: Completed secondary education (Diploma in Automotive Technology a plus).
-
License: Valid 3rd-grade or higher driving license.
-
Experience: Minimum 5 years in professional driving & liaison work, preferably with NGOs or international organizations.

Other:
-
Knowledge of Ethiopian administrative systems (immigration, licensing, taxation).

Familiarity with procurement and customs processes.

Basic vehicle maintenance skills.
