About Children Believe Fund
Children Believe Fund (CBF) is a child-centered, community-based international development organization devoted to addressing the needs of children, their families, and communities. CBF implements programs focusing on health & nutrition, WASH, education, early childhood development, child protection, sustainable livelihoods, disaster risk reduction, and gender equality in different parts of Ethiopia.
Currently, CBF is hiring a Finance Officer for its nutrition-focused project Championing Health and Gender Equality (CHANGE) to be implemented in North Wollo Zone, Amhara Region.
Position Details

Job Title: Finance Officer

Terms of Employment: One year, with the possibility of extension

Key Responsibilities
The Finance Officer will ensure proper financial management and reporting for the CHANGE project. Duties include:

Preparing project budgets, monthly/quarterly/annual cash flows.

Recording all financial transactions with proper documentation.
-
Advising project staff on fund requests, budget control, and approvals.
-
Supervising and supporting the Admin & Finance Assistant.
-
Ensuring compliance with CBF and donor financial policies.
-
Managing petty cash reimbursements and reconciliations.
-
Processing invoices, payments, and ledger reconciliations.
-
Handling payroll preparation and account reconciliations.
-
Ensuring timely tax payments and liaising with government bodies.
-
Supporting procurement, asset management, logistics, and inventory.
-
Preparing financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual, and final).
-
Representing the project in donor and stakeholder financial matters.
-
Maintaining secure documentation of financial and personnel records.
Qualification & Requirements
Education & Experience:
-
BA in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
-
Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience.
-
Previous NGO experience is mandatory.
Skills & Competencies:
-
Strong budget development, tracking, and reporting skills.
-
Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage Intacct).

Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
-
Good command of English and Amharic (spoken and written).
-
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
-
High integrity, responsibility, and willingness to travel to rural areas.
