About the Project

The project, “Technical Assistance to the Establishment of Model Woredas for Seqota Declaration in Ethiopia”, is a partnership between MOH, IPHC-E, and Big Win Philanthropy. Its goal is to accelerate childhood stunting reduction by establishing replicable model woredas integrating Community Labs, Growth Monitoring and Promotion, and Yelemat Turufat interventions.


Job Summary

We are seeking skilled Data Collection Supervisors to oversee rapid assessments across 35 woredas in Oromia (21 woredas), Sidama (4 woredas), and Central Ethiopia (10 woredas). The assessment involves quantitative and qualitative data collection at kebele, woreda, and regional levels. Results will inform project interventions and performance monitoring.


Key Responsibilities

  • Attend a two-day training on data collection tools and procedures.
  • Collect and supervise quantitative and qualitative data collection in assigned woredas and regions.
  • Transcribe and translate qualitative data accurately and submit on time.
  • Incorporate feedback from project staff during data collection.
  • Facilitate submission of paper-based and electronic data in agreed formats.
  • Draft and submit field reports at the end of the assignment.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the project team.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Advanced degree (BSc or above) in Public Health, Epidemiology, Nutrition, or related fields.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3 years in data collection and supervision (quantitative & qualitative).
    • Experience in nutrition, health, or food systems programming is a plus.
    • Experience conducting and supervising assessments in similar contexts is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Fluency in English and local languages.
    • Strong adaptability, teamwork, and effective communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and travel to project sites.

Deliverables

  • Attendance at data collector training.
  • Submission of electronic and paper-based data at the end of the assignment.
  • Draft and submit a comprehensive field report.

Payment

  • Payment will be made at the end of the assignment period (10 days).
