DIGAF & Micro-Credit Provider SC is hiring for 2 full-time positions in Addis Ababa: Operations Officer – Loan Officer Performance Management and Corporate Loan Officer.

These opportunities are suited to professionals with backgrounds in microfinance, digital lending, banking, financial services, sales operations, performance management, and corporate relationship management.

1. Operations Officer – Loan Officer Performance Management

Job Summary

The Operations Officer – Loan Officer Performance Management is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and improving the performance of Loan Officers (LOs) to support lending, customer acquisition, and productivity targets.

The position serves as a working link between the Digital Lending Performance Manager and Loan Officers by communicating targets, tracking daily activities, identifying performance gaps, and following up on corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities

Performance Monitoring

  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly Loan Officer performance against individual targets.
  • Track disbursement volume, new customer acquisition, repeat lending, and Loan Officer activity levels.
  • Identify high-performing and underperforming Loan Officers.
  • Maintain an up-to-date Loan Officer performance database and dashboard.

Target Management

  • Communicate monthly and periodic targets to Loan Officers.
  • Break monthly targets into daily milestones and review progress at designated checkpoints.
  • Follow up with Loan Officers who fall behind their targets and agree on corrective actions.
  • Escalate persistent performance gaps to the Digital Lending Performance Manager.

Performance Improvement

  • Conduct regular follow-ups with underperforming Loan Officers.
  • Identify root causes of low productivity, low disbursement, and weak customer acquisition.
  • Prepare, monitor, and close Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).
  • Share effective practices from high-performing Loan Officers.
  • Recommend corrective actions based on documented performance results.

Customer Acquisition and Sales Performance

  • Monitor the customer acquisition funnel, including leads generated, conversions, applications, approvals, and disbursements.
  • Follow up with Loan Officers with low customer acquisition or conversion performance.
  • Support initiatives aimed at increasing customer acquisition and loan utilization.
  • Identify acquisition patterns that may indicate poor-quality lending and refer them to the Credit Control team.

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly Loan Officer performance reports.
  • Prepare ranking and exception reports as required.
  • Analyze individual and team performance trends.
  • Verify consistency between LMS data and performance dashboards.
  • Identify and correct data discrepancies.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to the Digital Lending Performance Manager.

Training and Coaching

  • Identify training needs based on observed performance gaps.
  • Support the organization of Loan Officer training sessions.
  • Coach Loan Officers on customer acquisition, loan application procedures, digital lending processes, product knowledge, and LMS use.
  • Measure training effectiveness through subsequent performance results.

LMS and Operational Support

  • Monitor Loan Officer activities and transactions through the LMS.
  • Identify and document system issues affecting Loan Officer performance.
  • Escalate system issues to the relevant IT or Operations team and follow up until resolution.
  • Support the assignment, activation, and operational readiness of new and reassigned Loan Officers.

Performance Review and Escalation

  • Conduct regular performance reviews with assigned Loan Officers.
  • Maintain records of performance discussions and agreed actions.
  • Identify Loan Officers who repeatedly fail to meet minimum performance requirements.
  • Submit documented cases to the Digital Lending Performance Manager.
  • Support contract continuation, PIP, suspension, or termination processes in accordance with approved company policy.

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Relevant experience in microfinance, digital lending, banking, sales operations, or performance management.
  • Experience managing Loan Officers or field sales teams is an advantage.

2. Corporate Loan Officer

Job Summary

The Corporate Loan Officer is responsible for developing and maintaining partnerships with companies, institutions, and organizations to facilitate payroll-based lending and employee financial services.

The position involves corporate partnership development, employee onboarding, loan application facilitation, portfolio monitoring, customer support, business development, reporting, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Partnership Development

  • Identify and approach potential companies and institutions for payroll-based lending partnerships.
  • Present DIGAF’s corporate lending products and partnership value proposition to employers.
  • Support the negotiation and establishment of partnership agreements according to approved terms and procedures.
  • Maintain relationships with HR, Finance, Payroll, and management representatives of partner organizations.
  • Regularly visit and engage partner companies.
  • Expand the corporate partnership network and contribute to corporate lending targets.

Payroll-Based Loan Facilitation

  • Facilitate employee registration and onboarding under approved corporate partnerships.
  • Explain loan products, eligibility requirements, repayment terms, and application procedures to employees.
  • Support employees in completing loan applications and submitting required documents.
  • Coordinate customer verification, credit assessment, approval, disbursement, and repayment processes with relevant DIGAF departments.
  • Ensure payroll deduction arrangements are properly established and maintained.
  • Follow up on pending applications and resolve operational issues affecting loan processing.

Portfolio Management and Customer Support

  • Monitor the assigned corporate loan portfolio.
  • Follow up on repayments and coordinate payroll deductions and remittances with partner companies.
  • Identify overdue accounts and work with Credit Control to support recovery.
  • Maintain regular communication with borrowers and corporate partners.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints and support timely resolution.
  • Monitor customer retention and identify opportunities for repeat lending.

Business Development

  • Achieve assigned monthly and quarterly disbursement, customer acquisition, and portfolio targets.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell DIGAF savings and other relevant financial products to corporate employees.
  • Develop new employee groups and corporate customer segments.
  • Conduct presentations, awareness sessions, and financial product orientation for employees.
  • Maintain a pipeline of prospective corporate partners and report progress regularly.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of corporate partnerships, employee registrations, loan applications, and portfolio performance.
  • Prepare reports covering:
    • New corporate partnerships
    • Employee registrations
    • Loan applications
    • Loan approvals and disbursements
    • Outstanding portfolio
    • Repayment performance
    • Delinquency and recovery
    • Business pipeline and opportunities
  • Ensure required documents and partnership records are properly maintained.
  • Provide timely updates to the Partnership Manager and management.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure lending activities comply with DIGAF policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and approved partnership agreements.
  • Ensure proper customer identification and KYC requirements are fulfilled.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer and corporate information.
  • Report suspected fraud, irregularities, or policy violations immediately.

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Management, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in banking, microfinance, financial services, sales, relationship management, or corporate lending.
  • Experience in payroll lending, institutional lending, corporate relationship management, or business development is an advantage.
