Job Summary

The Embassy of Ethiopia in Tokyo is looking to recruit a qualified Translator/Receptionist to support front-desk operations and translation needs. The role involves handling inquiries, assisting visitors, supporting communication flow within the Embassy, and performing interpretation duties as needed. Candidates with strong language skills and administrative experience are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist visitors, and respond to inquiries via phone, email, and in person.
• Support smooth communication and information flow across Embassy departments.
• Provide translation and interpretation services between English and Japanese.
• Carry out additional administrative tasks and assignments as required.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Communication, Office Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as a translator, receptionist, or in a similar administrative role.
• Fluency in English and Japanese (both written and spoken).
• Prior work experience in Embassies or international organizations is an added advantage.
• Must hold a valid work permit or permanent resident ID in Japan.
• Strong communication, organizational, teamwork, and computer skills.

Salary

• Offered according to the Embassy’s salary scale.
