About the Embassy:
The Embassy of Germany in Addis Ababa represents Germany in Ethiopia and works to strengthen diplomatic, political, economic, cultural, and development cooperation. It provides consular services and supports collaboration in governance, trade, education, and international development.
Position: Assistant
Qualifications:
- University degree in Political Science, Economics, Law, Communication, Business Administration, or related fields
- Strong analytical skills in monitoring and reporting on political developments in Ethiopia
- Ability to prepare concise oral and written summaries
- Professional networks within Ethiopian politics and media
- Excellent interpersonal skills, discretion, punctuality, and reliability
- Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office) and experience with social media communications
Language Requirements:
- Proficiency in English and Amharic
- Knowledge of German is an advantage
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide oral and written translations (Amharic → English; German preferred)
- Support the Political Section with analysis of Ethiopian political developments
- Assist in organizing high‑level visits from Germany
- Review and summarize Amharic and English media sources
- Support event management, including evening and weekend events
