EthSwitch is Ethiopia's National Switch, owned by public and private banks, the National Bank of Ethiopia, Microfinance Institutions (MFIs), Payment Instrument Issuers (PIIs), and Payment System Operators (PSOs).
The organization is responsible for enabling interoperability among financial institutions, implementing the domestic payment scheme, providing the national payment gateway, facilitating clearing and settlement, and delivering shared payment infrastructure services across Ethiopia.
EthSwitch is currently inviting qualified applicants for the following positions.
Available Positions
1. Senior Auditor
Duty Station: Addis Ababa
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Management, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CIA, ACCA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
Experience
- 5 years (Bachelor's) or 3 years (Master's) of relevant work experience.
- At least 2 years in an officer-level position.
- Experience in internal audit, external audit, financial management, procurement, or operational auditing.
- Experience auditing IFRS-based financial statements is an added advantage.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), financial reporting, and accounting principles.
2. Senior Auditor – Digital Payments
Duty Station: Addis Ababa
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CIA, CISA, ACCA, or equivalent are advantageous.
Experience
- 6 years (Bachelor's) or 4 years (Master's) of relevant work experience.
- At least 2 years in professional positions.
- Experience in digital payments, banking operations, or internal auditing.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of payment systems, digital financial services, or banking operations.
3. Senior IT Auditor (Cybersecurity & Technology Audit)
Duty Station: Addis Ababa
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Security, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CISA, CISSP, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, or equivalent are an advantage.
Experience
- 6 years (Bachelor's) or 4 years (Master's) of relevant work experience.
- At least 2 years in professional positions.
- Experience in IT Audit, Cybersecurity, or Information Systems Audit.
4. Manager – Card Payment Switch Division
Duty Station: Addis Ababa
Educational Qualifications
- BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- 8 years (Bachelor's) or 6 years (Master's) of relevant work experience.
- At least 3 years in senior officer positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Card Payment Switch Division and oversee efficient operations.
- Develop and implement the division's strategic plan.
- Coordinate onboarding and integration of financial institutions.
- Support the implementation of card, ATM, and POS products and services.
5. Senior Planning & Performance Management Officer
Duty Station: Addis Ababa
Educational Qualifications
- BSc, BA, MA, MBA, or equivalent in Accounting, Economics, Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience
- 5 years (Bachelor's) or 3 years (Master's) of relevant work experience.
- At least 2 years in an officer-level position.
6. Senior Compliance Officer
Duty Station: Addis Ababa
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management, Economics, Information Technology, Law, Accounting, Finance, Banking, or a related field.
- Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Information Technology is acceptable as specified.
Experience
- Minimum of 7 years (Bachelor's) or 5 years (Master's) of relevant experience in compliance or regulatory affairs.
- Experience in financial services or digital payments is preferred.
- Experience working with financial institutions, financial intelligence units, or regulatory bodies is advantageous.
7. Senior Risk Management Officer
Duty Station: Addis Ababa
Educational Qualifications
- BSc, BA, MA, MBA, or MSc in Accounting, Economics, Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience
- 5 years (Bachelor's) or 3 years (Master's) of relevant work experience.
- At least 2 years in an officer-level position.
Terms of Employment
- Fixed-term contract for two (2) years.
- Successful employees may be considered for permanent employment based on organizational requirements, satisfactory performance, and company policies.
