In Ethiopia, FHI 360βs Crisis Response team supports populations affected by conflict across Tigray, Amhara, Afar, Somali, and Oromia regions, in collaboration with local partners such as Pastoralist Concern (PC).
π Position Overview
The Finance Officer will manage financial operations, accounting, and compliance to ensure fiscal integrity across FHI 360 projects. This role provides financial guidance, conducts analyses, supports reporting to donors, and ensures all financial transactions follow FHI 360 policies and donor regulations.
π Key Responsibilities

Strengthen internal controls and monitor financial compliance.

Review bank and cash GFAS and ensure accurate financial data entry.

Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and track balance sheet accounts.

Verify payment claims for compliance with FHI 360 policy, donor requirements, and local laws.

Ensure all payments are correctly coded and authorized.

Monitor cash and bank flows and coordinate with financial institutions.

Support internal and external audits, including donor-specific reviews.

Maintain financial coordination with partners for smooth project implementation.

Escalate financial risks or fraud activities to supervisors promptly.

Ensure procurement-related payments have proper documentation.

Maintain all supporting documents for financial transactions.
π Qualifications & Experience

Bachelorβs degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.

3-5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or operational management.

Experience with internal control reviews and financial analysis.

Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and HRIS/Payroll systems.

NGO experience preferred but not required.

Fluent in local language and excellent in English.
