About the Role

SOS Children’s Villages Ethiopia is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Graphic Design Mentor to teach and guide students in graphic design. The position involves both online and in-person training, providing one-on-one support, and creating engaging learning experiences for students, particularly from underprivileged backgrounds.

This role is part of projects funded by large NGOs focused on impact over profit, helping students gain skills to succeed as freelancers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct training classes online and in-person.
  • Provide live one-on-one support to students via online communication tools.
  • Host webinars, seminars, and Q&A sessions.
  • Assist students with assignments and tasks.
  • Design gamified elements and competitions to encourage student engagement.
  • Evaluate student assignments and provide constructive feedback.
  • Participate in internal meetings, preparing and sharing relevant information.

Qualifications and Experience

Must Have:

  • Proven experience as a Graphic Designer.
  • At least 3 years’ experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Verifiable portfolio (preferably on Behance or Dribbble).
  • Freelancing experience on platforms like Upwork, Fiverr, PPH is preferred.
  • Mentoring experience is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Experience in remote work environments.
  • Strong time management, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends, techniques, and technologies in graphic design.
